Planning permission has been submitted for the development at a newly established retail park to the east of the city centre.

The proposed scheme includes a 140 sq metre drive-thru unit, to be occupied by Subway, as well as outdoor seating area under a raft pergola.

The plans also include the erection of three commercial units; along with associated car parking, servicing and landscaping.

The 0.2-hectare development will sit opposite the existing Costa Coffee drive-thru, and across the road from the Rygor Mercedes-Benz Commercial Dealership at Triangle Park, Metz Way.

It will have direct vehicular and pedestrian access to Metz Way, which connects users to Gloucester City Centre and to the south it provides access to the A38 Eastern Avenue and nearby residential areas.

The proposal is expected to create 30 jobs (20 full-time and 10 part-time).

The application states that the "proposed mix of uses would further diversify this part of the town, thereby supporting its economic role."
