Nina Philippidis said: "This is a fantastic opportunity, and I can't wait to get started. I am passionate about delivering public services that truly add value to the lives of those who rely on us. Gloucestershire has much to be proud of in this regard and I look forward to working with the many dedicated staff and councillors at the council, along with partners to continue building and delivering the best possible services for communities across Gloucestershire."

Cllr Mark Hawthorne, leader of the council and chair of the appointments sub-committee said: "Nina impressed at every stage of the interview process and there is no doubt that she will be a true asset to the county council and to Gloucestershire as a whole. The committee were unanimous in its decision to appoint Nina who will take up her role in March 2024.
