New Cheltenham store to open after £175,000 investment

Cheltenham has been chosen as the latest location for one of the UK's fastest growing retailers - with a new £175,000 store set to open this Saturday.

On July 31, Flooring Superstore will open the doors to its newest store on Kingsditch Trading Estate.

The 5,272 sq ft outlet, creating four new sales representative roles, will be the 14th launched by Flooring Superstore in the UK since non-essential retail was permitted to resume trading in April.

It forms part of the firm's plan to open a total of 25 stores in 2021; taking the total store count to 50 across the country.

Flooring Superstore regional manager, Nathan Pritchard, said: "We are thrilled to have been able to add Cheltenham to our growing list of stores and are looking forward to the opening this weekend.

"The town has been a prime target for a while, but we were waiting for the right opportunity and have now found that with a fantastic location in a busy retail area.

"This will be our first store in Gloucestershire, so we are looking forward to making our own contribution to supporting the local and regional economy."

The store is expected to stock a wide range of flooring such as carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, EvoCore and a selection of artificial grass.

So far in 2021, Flooring Superstore has launched stores in Huddersfield, Doncaster, Newcastle, Norwich, Lincoln, Hull, Orpington, Basingstoke, Carlisle, Reading, Catford, Kidderminster, and Plymouth.

On the same day it opens a store in Cheltenham, another in Preston, Lancashire, will open, taking the total number of stores in the UK to 37.

Nathan added: "It's incredible to think that less than 10 years ago we were purely an e-commerce business, so we have a come a long way in such a short space of time.

"We have been able to grow our physical store presence quickly but in the right way due to a number of factors, including offering a one-stop-shop for all types of flooring and still being able to do this at online prices."
