Hold the front page - new Cheltenham shop puts up sign...

Cheltenham held its collective breath as the latest announcement was made over the town's new John Lewis store.

But before we get too excited it was only the unveiling of a new sign.

The soon to open store has the new name John Lewis & Partners emblazened down the side of its frontage.

The superstore is quite rightly big news but Punchline wonders if the announcement of a new sign is perhaps a media release too far.

No expense has been spared for the £23 million store on the site of the former Beechwood shopping centre off Cheltenham High Street.
