New cafe open for business

A city centre cafe with a difference will be holding its grand opening tomorrow (Saturday 24th August).

The Clean Plate on Southgate Street is a non-profit cafe developed by The Nelson Trust rehabilitation centre. The grand opening takes place from 12pm with live music and a barbecue.

Many of the team are in long term recovery from addiction. The Clean Plate believes that with the right help and support, change is possible. The Nelson Trust also aims to reduce the stigma attached to past lives and wants to make positive recovery visible in the community.

Alongside serving breakfasts, lunches, teas and coffees, the cafe will also have regular groups running. The Clean Plate can provide external catering for all occasions.
