A Gloucestershire entrepreneur has launched a new butcher and catering service in Quedgeley.

Matthew Birch took over Cotswold Butcher and Caterer this summer and has moved the business to new premises in Space Business Centre in Gloucester.

Matthew worked in the hospitality industry for 13 years before launching The Cotswolds Caterer in 2020, with its mobile catering brands including Taco Bella, Paella by Bella and the Cotswold Graze.

The Cotswold Butcher and Caterer is the latest addition to his portfolio, providing catering for weddings, events and corporate occasions across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, as well as a classic butchers shop for Quedgeley residents.

Matthew has worked with head butcher Andy Lee, who has 46 years' experience in the industry, to deliver a quality meat butchery service. The business uses local suppliers, with shelves stocked with Hereford lamb and beef, Gloucester chicken and Wiltshire pork.

Since reopening, the shop has seen an increase in repeat customers and the team is busy in preparing for Christmas, with pre-orders for festive meat boxes, and plans to launch a home delivery service.

Matthew said: "We have had a brilliant return to business since moving to Space Business Centre. It has been great to welcome so many new customers at our new site.

"With our first Christmas in the new unit fast approaching, we are excited for the future and looking forward to developing the business in the local area and beyond."
