New restaurant for Cheltenham revealed

Speculation started earlier in the summer as to where one of the world's most famous restaurant brands would be opening in Cheltenham.

A posting on social media site Twitter alerted those interested in such things to the news that the spa town would soon be able to boast its hosted a Burger King like near neighbour Gloucester.

Other than two job adverts on Indeed for a manager and assistant manager there was nothing else concrete to confirm speculation the fast-emerging lower high street was the favourite for the new site.

But an application has now been filed for a new illuminated sign by LG Signage at 206 High Street giving the game away.

According to Burger King, which was founded in 1954, a whopping 11 million-plus guests visit its restaurants around the world daily.

The news comes hot on the heels of yesterday's story in which we let you know about a bid to open a new Triple Two coffee house in the nearby former Trespass shop.
