New boss for Cirencester-based Corin

International orthopaedic company Corin Group, based in Cirencester, has announced a new CEO.

Jacob Paul has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer to spearhead growth in digital orthopaedic technology. He will be based at Corin's facility in Tampa, Florida.

He is one of two recent senior appointments. Terje Hanssen has also been appointed as Chief Operating Officer.

Paul previously worked at Medtronic, an American-Irish medical device company, where he was most recently Senior Vice-President.

Having led the transformation of Medtronic's spine business through the combination of implantable devices with enabling technologies such as robotics, navigation, imaging, and AI driven surgical planning, Paul is seen as well placed to lead Corin through the next phase of their mission to enhance patient activity and wellbeing with their own implants and connected technologies.

David Floyd, Corin interim CEO and non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: "I am very pleased and proud to welcome Jacob to Corin. His appointment will be pivotal in driving the innovation and expansion of our successful orthopaedic business into the rapidly evolving and growing market for connected, digital healthcare."

Jacob Paul said: "I am really excited to be joining Corin, which has developed some truly innovative technologies and data analytics tools to help surgeons and hospitals improve outcomes for patients. We have a great opportunity to bring these developments to more surgeons and hospitals, improving patients' return to quality of life around the world."

Meanwhile, Terje Hanssen has joined Corin as the new Chief Operating Officer, based in Cirencester.

His responsibilities will include leading the sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain globally.

Terje has previously worked across several multinational organisations.

He said "Corin Group is a great company with significant potential, and I am humbled and excited about the opportunity to join the group. The Global Operations Team plays an instrumental part in the organisation, supporting our customers and the company growth ambitions."
