New board members for GFirst LEP

GFirst LEP, Gloucestershire's Local Enterprise Partnership, has appointed Lorrin White and Ruth Dooley to its Board of Directors.

Dr Diane Savory OBE, Chair of GFirst LEP, said: "We were overwhelmed with both the quality and quantity of the applicants looking to join the GFirst LEP Board. We have been very successful as an LEP in attracting over £100 million in funding into the county. We must continue to work with the business community to be even more ambitious and to challenge ourselves to achieve even more. I am sure the experience, energy and enthusiasm from our newest board members will help us to achieve this."

Lorrin White is managing director of Bamboo Technology Group, a connectivity and technology provider in Cheltenham. Working to develop the importance of operational resilience in UK SMEs, the business specialises in the provision of core connectivity, IT infrastructure and associated solutions. Lorrin is passionate about business and her ideal environment is one that engenders consistent progress and development.

She said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining the GFirst LEP Board. Knowing that I will now be a part of the change, have the voice to challenge and influence the decisions that surround it and ultimately aim for the best possible long-term outcome for the people of Gloucestershire is a privilege.

"I believe that leadership, learning, sharing and collaborative working in Gloucestershire will enable the business community to achieve a great deal more for the long-term future of the county. I wanted to have the chance to be involved in working towards that better environmental, commercial and sustainable economy."

Ruth Dooley is a partner at Hazlewoods LLP. She is a chartered accountant and tax adviser for a wide range of companies and private clients and is a previous winner of South West Accountant of the Year. She has been instructed in over 100 cases and has experience in family, professional negligence and commercial cases.

Ruth said: "I am delighted to be joining the main board of GFirst LEP and hope to be able to use my knowledge, experience and love of Gloucestershire to help grow and promote our great county."
