New asset director for Gloucester Quays

Paul Carter has been appointed by Peel L&P as the new asset director of Gloucester Quays.

With over 20 years' experience in the shopping centre and outlet sector, Paul Carter moves to Peel L&P from Hammerson, where he was asset manager for 10 years - overseeing the performance of major regional malls, including Bullring Birmingham, Cabot Circus Bristol and WestQuay Southampton.

A qualified surveyor, he was responsible for all aspects of Hammerson's asset performance. This included leasing, capital expenditure and new income streams, including anchor re-purposing, offices/ co-work hubs, pop-ups, media, logistics and car parks. He was also asset lead on acquisitions and disposals.

He has previously held leasing and asset management roles at McArthurGlen and Westfield.

Paul Carter said: "I am thrilled to be joining Peel L&P and the Gloucester Quays team at such an exciting time for the business. Post lockdown, designer outlets are more relevant and compelling than ever, providing value, choice and an exciting day-out experience for customers in a genuinely collaborative and valuable partnership between owner and brands."

Gloucester Quays saw a 14 per cent increase in overall sales in 2021, compared to 2019.

It has recently attracted new brands to the centre, including Hobbs, Raging Bull and Dune London, and has seen the return of FatFace.
