New agritech centre where growth and technology meet

Five cutting-edge agritech workshops opened their doors at Manor Farm, Harnhill at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester in June. Now that members have moved in, Farm491 is inviting guests to join their exclusive open day on Tuesday 26th September from 10am -2pm to see 'behind the scenes'.

For one day only, visitors will be able to drop in to the Farm491 workshops, once a redundant farm barn and now an impressive building of five superb work spaces, to speak to members, tour the venue and learn about its innovative facilities which are helping businesses to grow. Tea and cake and a chance to meet the key people who have played a part in the development will all be part of the day.

The Farm491 workshops at Manor Farm, Harnhill, is part of the larger Farm491 agritech incubation hub.

The workshops are practical spaces for innovators to test and refine ideas before launch - as well as offering more established businesses a work place, a base for collaboration and a business address.

In addition to the practical working space, Farm491 provides members with access to 491 hectares of farmland, business support, professional experts, investors, farmers and farming data and is a vital support to entrepreneurs looking to grow and establish their businesses in the food and farming industry.

The work spaces are stylishly fitted out with modern interiors and high-spec facilities. The building comprises of three main areas.

The professional office space - light and airy and ideal for getting your head down. The lounge area, which is a great communal space to take a break, conduct a casual meeting or collaborate with others and the work space, which can be fitted out to suit individual business needs - and they also have tall roller shutter doors to allow large machinery to enter.

Whether you are walking into the office in a suit or driving out into the field in your overalls, the workshops offer the ideal agritech start-up solution.

Verity Payne, Farm491 co-ordinator, said; "We are delighted to extend an invitation out for people to join our open day on Tuesday 26th September. The open day is a chance for others to share in what we're doing here at Farm491. We're a community, an enterprise hub, and a business launch platform. Farm491 is here to support, guide and connect people to facilitate business progression."

She adds; "Harnhill offers the complete solution to any agritech start-up. It's a combination of collaborative workspace, workshop facilities and access to 491 hectares of farmland. It's a buzzing community where agritech businesses can take off and succeed. We hope lots of people will join us on Tuesday 26th September - everyone is welcome!"

With a diverse range of entrepreneurs looking to apply a technology solution to the agricultural sector, Farm491 is facilitating growth and enterprise across the Cotswolds.

It forms part of the Royal Agricultural University's (RAU) masterplan to help grow both the Gloucestershire and agritech economies by assisting businesses to accelerate their growth and exploit their full potential - and subsequently create jobs.
