Morrisons launches new wholesale app

Supermarket chain Morrisons has launched a new app for wholesale and franchise partners.

The new app will allow retailers in the chain's supply network to scan the items which need restocking on their smartphones before checking out with a duty manager, as reported by Retail Gazette.

It means wholesale customers can be invoiced on their existing agreed terms, rather than buying at in-store prices.

Morrisons' wholesale arm supplies more than 1,600 stores in five countries with 9,000 products.

The chain's new chief executive, Rami BaitiƩh, is also looking to boost its convenience store offer - planning to open 400 more Morrisons Daily shops.
