Key players in the Harrison Clark Rickerbys and Sprecher Grier merger (l to r) Nick Hughes Daniel Sejas and Sam Payne

A Cheltenham law firm will be able to call upon a broader range of services after securing a merger with London-based industry experts.

Harrison Clark Rickerbys, who have offices in Wellingborough Street, Cheltenham, can now call on the expertise of restructuring and insolvency (R&I) experts Sprecher Grier after the merge.

The move will see former colleagues reunited as Sam Payne, head of HCRs restructuring and insolvency team has previously worked with Sprecher and Grier.

Payne will lead the merged firm's R&I practice, working alongside former colleague Daniel Sejas, who will lead the London operation.

Payne said: "This merger will significantly boost the continued growth of HCR's London office and bring together two firms with excellent reputations, Sprecher Grier in the capital and HCR nationally.

"HCR's London team will move into Sprecher Grier's existing offices off Bishopsgate.

"For HCR, relocating into the City provides a great base for future development, giving critical mass to our offering in the capital across all services and sectors."

Sprecher Grier has a leading R&I practice, headed by Sejas who is a tier one ranked leader in insolvency, ably supported by his business partner Nick Hughes and a sizeable team.

Sejas added: "From Sprecher Grier's perspective, this will enable us to continue to offer our clients our impeccable legal services, significantly strengthen the combined firms' restructuring and insolvency offering, and also enable us to offer our clients first rate additional legal services in other areas of law needed by national and international businesses."

Harrison Clark Rickerbys can date its origins back to 1796 when the Rickerbys firm was founded in Cheltenham.

The company merged with Herefordshire-based Harrison Clark in 2013 and has in excess of 500 employees and partners based in Cheltenham, Worcester, Birningham, the Wye Valley, Thames Valley and now in the new premises in central London.

The firm provides a complete spectrum of legal services to both business and private clients, regionally and nationwide.

They also have a number of award winning teams specialising in individual market sectors, including health and social care, education, advanced manufacturing, agricultural and rural affairs, defence, security and the forces, and construction.
