28th June 2017
Two organisations in Gloucestershire are set to enjoy a share of £109million in new funding, Arts Council England has announced.
It said 103 organisations in the South West will be in the National Portfolio for 2018-22, including both the Strike A Light Festival and Create Gloucestershire for the first time.
Strike A Light runs a number of popular events in Gloucester, while Create Gloucestershire comprises nearly 200 members looking to promote the arts across the county.
The funding, which will be split among the 103 groups over the next four years, is aimed at enabling more people to experience exciting art and culture.
Arts Council England South West area director Phil Gibby said: "This is an exceptionally strong portfolio of organisations delivering great arts and cultural experiences to audiences throughout the South West.
"We are delighted to have increased our investment across the South West, building on a successful and established portfolio by adding innovation and rewarding artistic boldness.
"We are very excited about the next four years and look forward to working with all the organisations to help them to take art and culture to more people and more places than ever before."
