Market stallholders celebrate 50 golden years of trading

Hardworking stallholders joined in the fun as they celebrated the 50th anniversary of the opening of Gloucester's Eastgate Market today.

Traders dressed up for the occasion and celebrated by playing music from 1968 while visitors enjoyed songs performed by a local musician.

There were lots of photographs on display from past anniversaries and traders adorned their stalls, with a trophy being awarded to the best dressed stall.

Visitors were able to stroll down memory lane and watch old footage of the market being played at Eastgate Indoor Market's very own pop up cinema.

Pershore Foods have also sponsored a 50th birthday cake and town crier Alan Myatt used his mighty voice to spread the good news about today's anniversary.
