Man in custody for stabbing in Cheltenham

A 21-year-old man accused of stabbing a man in Cheltenham on May 27 has been remanded in custody pending trial at Gloucester Crown Court.
Jamie Peart, of no fixed abode, appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on June 2, charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding Ashley Mills in Lipson Road, Cheltenham, on May 27, with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
Peart had been arrested in Torquay, South Devon, on June 1.
The magistrates remanded him in custody pending his first appearance before Gloucester Crown Court on July 1.
The charge relates to an incident when the alleged victim suffered a wound to his hand. Police were alerted when he arrived at hospital for treatment to the injury.
