Man charged with assault following Gloucester Quays stabbing

A 28 year old Hardwicke man has been charged with assault and wounding offences after a man was stabbed in a gym in the Quays area of Gloucester on Monday this week (March 20).

Rockoy Christopher Watson is accused of Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a pair of scissors, at The Gym Group at Gloucester Quays.

The victim, who sustained wounds, has since been discharged from hospital following treatment.

Watson is also charged in connection with a separate incident on Llanthony Road in Gloucester two days earlier, on Saturday, March 18.

He is accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a pair of scissors, in a public place on that date.

He appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (March 22) and was remanded in custody.

Watson is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday 14.
