Man arrested following laser incident

A man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft by shining a laser pen at the pilot.

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning (May 4) when a helicopter from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) was conducting a search over an area of the city.

The pilot was able to guide officers on the ground to a property where they located a 24-year-old man and recovered a laser pen.

The man is currently in custody.

No-one was injured during the incident.
