Major Gloucester road set to be closed for evening rush hour due to fallen tree

One of the busiest roads in Gloucester has been closed due to a tree falling.

Gloucestershire Police's Force Control Room have tweeted that Cole Avenue in Gloucester has been closed from around 4.30pm.

There is no indication as to how long the closure will be in force, with the tweet saying that Highways England have been called and will be attending in due course.

The tweet said: "Drivers are asked to find alternative routes as Cole Avenue is closed due to a fallen tree.

"Police were called at 4.25pm following reports that a tree had fallen into the road.

"Highways England have been informed and will be attending in due course."
