Major Gloucester Quays retailer to relocate

One of Gloucester Quays' sports retailers is to up sticks from its popular position in the waterside retail hotspot.

Gloucester Rugby's Quays store is moving - hot on the heels of fashion brand Klass, which announced its relocation to the city centre's Eastgate Shopping Centre earlier this month.

In the case of Gloucester Rugby's store, which is in association with XBlades, the move is not so dramatic - and neither is it a goodbye to the Quays.

It is moving just one door up into the now vacant Cotton Traders store.

The Kingholm club's store is now closed while the move takes place, but is expected to open in its new home from tomorrow (Thursday, August 16).

It is thought the reshuffle is part of an effort to create a sports store hot-spot within the centre, with continued speculation over what brand will fill the still vacant unit left by the disappearance of Cotton Traders.

Some of that speculation leans heavily in favour of an Adidas store. But watch this space.
