Main route in to Gloucester will be closed tonight with further disruption this week

One of the main commuter routes in to and out of Gloucester will be closed overnight this week.

From tonight, sections of the Cross Keys roundabout that links the south of the city to the M5 Motorway will be closed between 7pm and 6am the following morning.

It will mean that arteries off the roundabout will be closed to allow crews to safely complete the resurfacing works.

When complete, the £3.84 million scheme will transform the roundabout and access roads to allow greater numbers of vehicles to flow between the city and M5.

Work has been ongoing for the last two months, but it's over the next week that the worst disruption is expected with the road closures.

Monday, July 22 (7pm to 6am the following morning)

The B4008 Bristol Road approach to Cross Keys Roundabout and B4008 from Cross Keys towards Junction 12 of the M5 will be closed.

Tuesday, July 23 (7pm to 6am the following morning)

A38 arm of the roundabout to and from Whitminster/Stroud will be closed.

Lane 1 on the roundabout and Lane 1 of the A38 North toward Gloucester also closed.

Wednesday, July 24 (7pm to 6am the following morning)

The A38 approach to Cross Keys Roundabout from Gloucester will be closed.

Lane 2 of the roundabout and Lane 2 of A38 North towards Gloucester will be closed.

Thursday, July 25 (7pm to 6am the following morning)

The A38 approach to Cross Keys Roundabout from M5 Junction 12 (previously the B4008) will have a full closure.

Access for residents and business on Hiltmead Lane will be maintained.

Week Commencing July 29.

There will be off-peak lane closures on the A38 from Cross Keys towards Gloucester between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
