Macron relocates Gloucester store to larger premises

Sportswear manufacturer and retailer Macron Store Gloucester is relocating from the Clifton Centre into larger premises at Gloucester Business Park.

The store offers Italian technical sportswear and the move will facilitate the launch of new product lines, including a new workwear line.

The move to Unit B4 Nexus will provide a larger showroom as well as improved production space for machinery and warehousing.

The Macron Store Gloucester first began trading in 2010 at Elmbridge Court with a small showroom, offices and production area. As business grew and space became tight, it leased additional warehouse space nearby.

Over the past five years, turnover has doubled as its customer base has developed. Today it supplies hundreds of sports teams across the country, ranging from grassroots to professional football teams, along with universities, colleges and schools.

After once again outgrowing its current space at the Clifton Centre, it has now agreed lease terms, through Alder King, on Unit B4 Nexus, a 5,640 sq ft unit on Hurricane Road.

The modern end-of-terrace unit occupies an eye-catching corner position which can accommodate two signboards, which will be used to promote Macron's new workwear line next year.

Alder King partner Adrian Rowley said: "Alder King has worked with Liz and Andy of Macron Gloucester since 2010, letting them their first space at Elmbridge and other accommodation since then. We're very pleased to see them expanding once again into such a well-located unit."

Liz Keveren of Macron Store Gloucester said: "Taking this larger unit is a major strategic step for us, paving the way for a raft of new initiatives. It was important to us to stay on Gloucester Business Park due to its proximity to the motorway and strong links in and out of the county."

The unit is currently being refurbished, with Macron's 11-strong team aiming to take occupation in June. Macron is also planning to recruit three new members of sales and production staff over the next 18 months.

Founded in Italy in 1974, Macron is a leading manufacturer and retailer of sportswear and accessories for sports including football, rugby, basketball, volleyball, baseball, handball, futsal and running.

The Gloucester store is now one of 20 Macron stores around the UK.
