M&S outfits for hire

Marks & Spencer has launched a new womenswear rental collection, in its biggest ever retailer collaboration.

The M&S spring collection lands on rental platform, Hirestreet, this week, with clothing suitable for holidays and events to hire from £10, as reported by Retail Gazette.

The spring collection is made up of 40 womenswear pieces from Marks & Spencer's own brands - Autograph, Per Una and M&S Collection.

M&S, which has stores in Gloucester and Cheltenham, will launch 16 looks on the platform before Easter and will add new styles throughout the spring and summer.

The collaboration launched in November and M&S has been monitoring what people are hiring and why for the last few months. They found that just over half of Hirestreet's customers rented clothing for casual social events.

M&S said the partnerships with Hirestreet is about its commitment to making its products relevant to customers' lives - not just what it offers, but how.

The collaboration is part of M&S' commitment to sustainability. According to the M&S Family Matters Index Report, over a third of consumers now consider the climate crisis when purchasing clothes.
