Lodders advises on acquisition of two UK residential parks

Law firm Lodders has advised Avon Estates Ltd, on the acquisition of two further residential park home sites as part of the company's expansion plans.

Lodders' real estate partner Alastair Frew and Leanne Lawrence, senior associate in the corporate team, advised Avon Estates on the purchase of The Willows in Forthampton, Gloucestershire, and Edkins Park in Wilmcote, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Headquartered in Stratford-upon-Avon, Avon Estates is a family-owned business that runs residential park home sites and holiday parks across central England, offering luxury residential park homes, holiday home ownership, and holiday breaks with touring pitches, glamping pods, and self-catering accommodation. The double acquisition brings the number of parks operated by Avon Estates to 14.

Having advised Nic Allen, director of Avon Estates for a number of years, Alastair Frew says the two latest deals reflect the company's successful track record in refurbishing and managing a growing portfolio of parks in the UK.

Alastair said: "The residential and holiday park industry in the UK is booming. If operators target the right market niche and manage the parks to a very high standard, they can be very successful businesses, and this is what Avon Estates is renowned for.

"Edkins Park was purchased from a family who had owned the park for decades, so it was particularly important that our client's proposition was as attractive as possible and represented the best route for the family to take. With The Willows, our role was to complete the deal swiftly and thoroughly. We are looking forward to seeing the parks develop when work starts at the end of the year.

Nic Allen, director of Avon Estates, said: "This year, Avon Estates is dedicated to expanding our residential park portfolio. Having already acquired four new parks with three more in progress, our family-run business thrives on creating safe, welcoming park home communities in stunning countryside locations, where like-minded residents enjoy a more relaxed way of life.

"As we grow, we remain committed to enhancing parks with a family-oriented atmosphere, collaborating with UK manufacturers to deliver high-quality park homes. Our expansion not only addresses the demand for high-quality single-storey accommodation in peaceful locations but also drives local employment opportunities and supports local businesses. We are also keen to explore further opportunities to acquire parks from similar independent, family-run businesses."
