Local motor group awarded MG franchise for Gloucester

A motor group which has been in the county since 1906 has been awarded the MG sales and service franchise for Gloucester.

Baylis is one of the biggest independently managed motor groups in the region, with eight Vauxhall centres, including centres in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Stroud. It also has stand-alone bodyshops in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

From this month, the company will represent the MG brand at its Cole Avenue site in Gloucester. It will offer both new and used cars, as well as servicing, repairs and parts and accessories for contemporary MG models.

Andy Robbins, Baylis Group sales director, said: "We are delighted to be able to offer new MG models to our customers - including the stunning MG ZS EV - a smart, electrically operated SUV with a price point well below many of its competitors."

The MG brand has evolved over the years, due to a huge investment in engineering and technical development to produce a range of stylish, efficient and ergonomic vehicles. The UK team is responsible for the interior and exterior design of all MG products across the globe, combining 21st century technology with the traditions of the marque.

Andy Robbins added: "We think our customers will appreciate the build quality and versatility of the latest MG range, from thrifty hatchbacks through spacious hybrids and family-ready SUVs to innovative brand new models such as the MG5."

The MG5 all-electric estate car will arrive at Baylis later this year and, like all new MGs, will come with a comprehensive seven year warranty.

Last year Baylis was named as one of the best companies to work for in the UK by Best Companies - ranked 45th in the Midlands and 56th in the South West.

Baylis employs over 350 staff across 11 sites.
