Litter picker assaulted in Gloucester

Officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Gloucester, sustaining facial injuries.

Police were called to Trier Way in the city at around 12pm on Thursday (August 3) with a report that a man who had been litter picking was assaulted after disturbing a man who was rummaging through his bag.

The victim had challenged the man about what he was doing before being punched to the face. The man, who is in his 70s, required medical attention for his injuries.

The offender was described as wearing a grey and black hoodie, black trousers and carrying a yellow JD Sports bag.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the assault or who was travelling in the area and has dashcam footage to make contact.

Information can be provided to police by completing the online form and quoting incident 260 of August 3.
