Leading outdoor brand to open at Gloucester Quays

Berghaus, the leading outdoor brand, is to open only its second standalone UK store at Gloucester Quays.

Launching this summer in a 2,117 sq ft store opposite Adidas in a unit previously occupied by Bedeck, Berghaus will cater for activities including walking, mountaineering, and climbing, with a wide selection of clothing, footwear and equipment for both men and women.

Taking inspiration from the natural environment, the new space will be fitted out in a minimalist design, featuring life-like foliage on the exterior complemented by wooden furniture and metal finishes with a weather-worn look inside the store.

The changing rooms will also feature a 360-degree landscape design inspired by the local countryside. This will be the first Berghaus store to experiment with this new premium concept, which the brand plans to expand further into 2025.

As a B Corp-certified company, Berghaus will demonstrate its dedication to sustainability by offering a lifetime guarantee on all products and a complimentary repair service for every item of clothing.

The company's commitment to providing high-quality outdoor gear with a focus on sustainability aligns with Gloucester Quays' mission to foster positive social, economic, and environmental impact in the city.

The arrival of Berghaus at Gloucester Quays builds on the already diverse outdoor shopping options available such as Trespass, Mountain Warehouse, and The North Face.

Paul Carter, asset director at Peel Retail & Leisure, said: "Gloucester Quays has always performed well in the outdoor clothing and accessories space, and clearly Berghaus agree given this will be just their second standalone store.

"Adding Berghaus to our impressive line-up of outdoor brands demonstrates our commitment to responding to our customers' needs and wants, as well as an ability to attract brands that lead in their field. It's another landmark signing for Gloucester Quays, as we celebrate our 15th anniversary, and continue to deliver a first-class outlet experience for our catchment."

Adam Gill, head of sales UK & Ireland for Pentland Brands, added: "Berghaus is delighted to be signing at Gloucester Quays. It's a premier UK outlet and the historic architecture makes it a beautiful place. It's a great location for Berghaus in the South West, alongside other top brands.

"We're excited about opening in Gloucester Quays for many reasons. The site is ideal for showcasing our latest range of clothing, footwear, packs and accessories, all built to help people of all ages and experiences enjoy the outdoors. In addition, opening the store will also mark the start of Berghaus' new retail strategy, which will develop and roll out over the years ahead."

This news follows Gloucester Quays' recent announcement of several brands committing to the outlet, including a new store for leading menswear brand Moss, and a Skechers' expansion and refit.
