Law firm builds business portfolio with new partner

A construction law specialist has become the latest partner to join law firm Lodders.

Paul Wilson's appointment and construction sector and law expertise adds a new specialism to Lodders portfolio.

According to the firm, which has offices in Cheltenham, the move represents a strategic expansion of its real estate offering to complement its existing planning, highways and rights of way expertise.

Mr Wilson will work closely with the firm's top ranking commercial property team, dispute resolution team, and the real estate practice generally.

Paul Mourton, Lodders' managing partner, who is head of the firm's real estate team, said: "Not only does Paul's appointment represent the addition of another pedigree lawyer to our heavyweight real estate practice, but his expertise enhances our development and investment specialism."

Paul Wilson said: "This is a rare and attractive opportunity to develop this new role which complements the firm's existing successful commercial property, real estate, planning and dispute resolutions practices."

Lodders said its new partner specialises in contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering law and has extensive experience advising and acting on behalf of lenders, developers, main contractors, specialist sub-contractors, educational establishments, professional service providers, high net worth individuals and investors, alongside his niche expertise in party wall disputes.

He has worked for several of the UK's and Midlands' leading law firms over the last 20 years, joining Lodders from Birmingham firm Tyndallwoods Solicitors.

Previously, Wilson was a construction partner at Morgan Cole - now Blake Morgan - in Oxford, after spending the early part of his career at Eversheds in Birmingham.

He will work across the firm's Midlands and South West office network.
