EXCLUSIVE: Lap dancing club plans to reopen in Cheltenham this autumn

Lap dancing club Eroticats wants to reopen its doors during Cheltenham’s autumn race meet.

Earlier this year hordes of racegoers flocked to the pop-up venue behind the Promenade to spend their winnings on exotic dances.
Bosses are now hoping to attract hundreds more punters to the venue during The November Meet (Nov 17-19).
They have applied for permission from Cheltenham Borough Council to vary their licence to open for two days until 5am during the horseracing event.
If given the nod, the Regency town could experience similar scenes to this March when racegoers were ferried from Prestbury Park directly to the doors of the club.
Hosted at the back of Under the Prom nightclub, it reportedly had around 100 strippers from all over the UK and was dubbed the "pleasure palace".

The original Sexual Entertainment Venue (SEV) licence was granted in February for five days of Cheltenham Festival.
Police did not object to the application and the council could not object on moral grounds as sex establishments are lawful businesses which are a legitimate part of the retail and leisure industries.
The temporary venue facing Montpellier Street divided residents' opinions.
Some said it was a "shabby idea" which degraded women but others that it protected them by keeping activities under the eye of the authorities.
Applicant Steven Burrows is director of Gloucester company European Events Consultants Limited.
He appears to think permission for the autumn event is a given. The Eroticats Instagram page has been posting since July that it will be back in town in November and its most recent upload from September 2 reads: "Eroticats are back in Cheltenham 17th and 18th November."
His application 23/01277/SEXA for the new dates was received by the council on August 14.
A council spokesperson said it was a variation application to add the November meeting to the existing SEV licence for the March meeting.
The club has requested permission to open on the Friday and Saturday of Cheltenham Racecourse November Meeting each year from 8pm - 5am the day following. It said exact dates will be confirmed in writing each year to the council and police, one month prior to the event.
