Landmark hotel has new name

One of Gloucestershire's best-known hotels has been rebranded.

The former Jurys Inn, close to Junction 11 of the M5 on the outskirts of Cheltenham, is now a Leonardo hotel.

The name change was announced earlier this year. The Jurys Inn name is to be completely retired after almost 30 years by the end of this year, with all 35 of its hotels to be rebranded.

It might be called Leonardo now, but to locals of a certain age it will always be 'The Golden Valley Hotel', as well as being remembered by those with very long memories as the setting for Crossroads on ITV.

Jurys Inn was merged with Leonardo Hotels in 2017. Before the Jurys Inn hotels rebranded, it had 16 Leonardo properties in the UK and Ireland.

Once the Jurys Inn rebrand is complete, Leonardo Hotels will have 145 hotels in 83 cities across 13 countries.
