Ladies Day success for charity

Local children's charity, Pied Piper, raised a whopping £23,500 with a Ladies Day event at Cheltenham Races last week.

With around 320 people in attendance, there was a real buzz in the marquee for the sit down meal and guests were more than willing to part with their cash for a good cause.

The charity auction, run by Pied Piper chair Nick Broady, raised around £7,000 alone.

Punchline editor, Mark Owen, was among the guests. He said: "Nobody runs an auction quite like Nick! He's very good at squeezing money out of people!"

Thanks to event hosts Bucko Sports Management, Hey Pesto who provided superb catering, and drinks company Cellar Supplies, for sponsoring the welcome fizz.
