Kitchen Garden release new Wolfys Couscous range

Stroud-based producers Kitchen Garden - the brains behind Wolfys Porridge - have launched a lunchtime offering.

Wolfys Couscous has been launched with three flavours, each pot containing another little pot of relish or chutney to stir into the warm grains. All you need to do is add hot water, leave for four minutes and enjoy.

Kitchen Garden, who employ around 20 staff at their site in Salmon Springs, supply over 500 outlets across all of the UK and overseas.

All of their products are made by hand, in small batches, using only natural ingredients.

Commercial director James Horwood said: "Wolfys Couscous is incredibly exciting and is the perfect complement to our range of porridge pots.

"We launched Wolfys Porridge almost five years ago and it has been phenomenally successful. The addition of the little pot of jam or marmalade to scoop into the creamy oats has set us apart from the other instant porridge brands.

"The couscous carries the same concept with each containing a little pot of chutney or relish under the lid.

"We've also tackled two major trends with these couscous pots: healthy eating and morals. There is a definite trend for people wanting to eat a vegetarian or vegan diet; there's a trend for people wanting to consume a low fat diet and a very strong trend for zero palm oil.

"The couscous ticks all of these boxes while still being packed with flavour and generously filling. There's nothing artificial of weird in any of our products and everything is made by us, by hand, here in Stroud.

"We've won almost 60 awards for what we do and we're hoping to add Wolfys Couscous to the trophy cabinet."

The three couscous varieties are curry couscous with lentils, sultanas & mango chutney; root veg couscous with sweet onion relish; and garlic & herb couscous with sundried tomato & chipotle relish.

Mr Horwood added: "We're hoping to see it stocked in the supermarkets fairly soon after launch and it will be available from February 5."
