Department store chain, John Lewis, will start stocking 36 new homeware brands this autumn.
The new lighting, kitchenware and furniture ranges will be introduced in September, as part of a bid to bring customers back to its stores, as reported by Retail Gazette.
The chain, which has a store in Cheltenham, has introduced more than 160 extra brands in the last 12 months. Its furniture, homeware and lighting range is now around 15% bigger than it was a year ago.
New John Lewis executive director, Peter Ruis, has been giving the job of reviving its stores.
He has been working to get more shop floor staff, by negotiating with fashion brands to pay a lower rate of commission in exchange for more employees working on their concessions. He is also working on increasing the number of own-brand sofas stocked.
