Jigsaw set to return to Cheltenham

Women's clothing and accessories brand Jigsaw is returning to Cheltenham.

A new Jigsaw store is due to open at 62/64 The Promenade, formerly Austin Reed, on Wednesday 28th September. The site, which has been empty for four years, is next door to Jigsaw's former store in Cheltenham.

Vicki Baker, head of retail at Jigsaw, said: "To see Jigsaw return to Cheltenham feels as if we are returning to our heartland. We know the spa town of Cheltenham is rightly famous for its stunning architecture and to see Jigsaw take the old Austin Reed store that has remained derelict for so many years and support in restoring this store to its former glory feels more fitting than ever.

"Cheltenham has built a reputation as being a festival town - known for the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Jazz and so much more. In our ambition to embed ourselves with what is important to each community we are excited for the opportunities Cheltenham presents.

"Jigsaw's aim is that this store will become so much more than a retail space. It will be used to hold regular events to bring the community together. We know there is a real appetite to see Jigsaw return and we can't wait to welcome our customers new and old back to the store!"

The new space has a retail area of 1,356 sq ft and has a boutique feel, which includes soft lighting and features bold mid-century furniture

The store sits within a Grade II listed building. AMD Architects have designed the store that will have a true boutique and showroom feel and house edited collections whilst having lounging areas for customers to trying on the Jigsaw collections.

Artists the store is collaborating with include applied glass artist Cas Pollen, Palefire Studio Lighting and it features three light sculptures from artist and designer Isamu Noguchi.

From September 29th-2nd October Jigsaw will be offering a gift with every purchase from card holders to bespoke Jigsaw x Cheltenham canvas totes and drinks and treats will be served in-store each afternoon over the weekend

Jigsaw was founded by John Robinson in 1970. He pioneered the principle of bringing elevated design to the British high street. Over 50 years on, Jigsaw is still known for collaborating with renowned architects, upcoming photographers and artisan mills, makers, and creators to create quality, sustainable collections.
