Japanese restaurant in Cheltenham to close

Japanese restaurant and bar Yogan is closing next week after just over year of trading in Cheltenham.

The venue on Bath Road opened in May 2021 offering dishes such as bao buns, volcanic hot stone steaks sushi and ramen.

In June it offered 50 per cent off food but has now announced its doors will close permanently on July 24.

"'We are very sad to announce the closing of Yogan. Yogan will be closed from the 24th of July onwards," it said in a social media post from July 15.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us, from our amazing chefs, waiting staff and our wonderful customers

"If you have not yet tried our food or want one last try please book your tables before the 24th of July."

Those who still crave Japanese fare can visit Nagomi which is due to open in Cheltenham shortly, while Yoku also opened at 131 on the Promenade in March 2022.
