The South West's largest specialist independent health and social care provider, Iris Care Group, has announced that Dr Andy Jones has been appointed as the organisation's chief executive officer.
Currently managing more than 1,700 staff from its regional offices in Gloucester and Cardiff, Iris Care Group is the largest specialist complex care group in the South West of England and Wales, operating hospitals, residential homes, supported living, and special education needs services.

The group was formed in May 2023, following the merger of two established care providers, Holmleigh Care Homes and Ludlow Street Healthcare.
The merger was overseen by chair and interim CEO Peter Kinsey, a very well-respected senior executive within the healthcare industry with 35 years' experience of managing large healthcare services in the NHS, voluntary and independent sectors.
Dr Andy Jones has now been appointed to the CEO role where he will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation and delivering the group's growth plans. The appointment enables Peter Kinsey to focus on his role as chair.
Dr Jones has carved a high-profile global career in strategic planning and implementation in consumer and healthcare industries. He studied medicine at the University of Leeds and holds an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge.
Most recently, he was the head of healthcare Asia for Aurelius, prior to which he was UK CEO and global chief growth officer for Australian-based international healthcare group Ramsey Health Care.
Dr Andy Jones said: "Iris Care Group has earned a reputation for the quality of treatment and care it provides for individuals with complex mental health conditions, and putting the needs of the people they support at the heart of everything they do.
"My primary goal as CEO will be to grow and develop more essential services, whilst maintaining our quality-of-care ethos. It is important to me to ensure staff continue to feel valued and respected, and that we recruit more staff, offering them the same fulfilling career opportunities."
Peter Kinsey, chair of Iris Care Group, added: "With the merger now successfully completed, Andy's track record of delivering enhancements at the helm of leading healthcare businesses made him the perfect choice to drive Iris Care Group's future development and growth plans."
Iris Care Group provides a full pathway of services for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues and personality disorder, along with neurodegenerative conditions and acquired brain injury.
The group provides treatment and care for complex mental health conditions, and their domiciliary care, supported living, residential, educational, and nursing services support people to develop the skills to live independent, and meaningful lives in the community, whilst their specialist hospitals provide assessment, care, and treatment.
