Insurance broker makes generous donation to charity

Lansdown Insurance Brokers has presented a cheque for £6,000 to The James Hopkins Trust, the broker's chosen charity for the last year.

In total, Lansdown has donated £14,818 to the charity. This amount equates to 39 daytime respite sessions for five children.

Darren Bee, commercial manager at the insurance specialists, said: "The James Hopkins Trust is a wonderful charity committed to supporting families across Gloucestershire. We have a strong commitment to charitable giving, it's part of our culture as a business and we are very proud to be able to support them in this way."

The James Hopkins Trust provides free much-needed nursing and respite, as well as practical and emotional help to the whole family at its purpose-built multi-sensory centre in Hucclecote. The children they care for have life-threatening or life-limiting conditions and complex nursing needs.

Sarah James, head of fundraising at the Trust, said: "Lansdown Insurance Brokers has been such an important part of James Hopkins Trust and we have loved getting to know all of the team. The fundraising has been incredibly valuable and to have raised £14,818 in a year is staggering and greatly appreciated."

Darren added: "We have now come to the end of the 12 months that we committed to supporting the Trust, but I am certain that this will not be the end of the relationship between us. Many of the staff at Lansdown are extremely passionate about this charity and the work it does for our local community and I am sure they will continue to support them in any way they can."

The James Hopkins Trust relies almost entirely on donations.
