Inflation bites into this year's Christmas dinner

The cost of Christmas dinner is going up this year as inflation cuts into the price of the traditional festive ingredients.
Researchers say the staples of the festive meal - like turkey, Brussels sprouts and Christmas pudding - will cost consumers considerably more than last year.
A frozen turkey, the researchers say, has jumped by 7%, while other Christmas dinner staples like the pudding, potatoes and sprouts are up by 5% on last year.
According to analysts Kantar, a meal for four will now cost £27.48 on average.
Inflation has been creeping up this year, as supply chains are stretched, and many items are facing shortages.
In the past four weeks, grocery prices across the board have jumped 3.2% compared with last November.
Kantar said: "As we count down on our advent calendars to the big day, it's clear that shoppers want to have some fun and make this Christmas extra special.
"Price inflation doesn't seem to be denting their desire to treat themselves and loved ones."
But Kantar added: "Habits we'd expect to see shift, like swapping branded products for own-label or seeking out promotions, haven't altered just yet."
