If you do just one thing on Thursday make sure you vote
By James Young | 11th December 2019
Election day is almost upon us and it has never been more important to make sure you have your say on the future of the country and vote.
We won't make any declaration as to how you should vote, but we would urge each and every eligible voter to make sure their democratic voice is heard.
Voting in Gloucestershire's six parliamentary constituencies gets underway at 7am on Thursday morning and will remain open until 10pm.
So long as you were previously registered to vote, or registered by November 26 and are not disqualified for any reason, you will have been sent a poll card to your address.
The poll card will state clearly where your assigned polling station is. You are only able to vote at the polling station on your card.
All polling stations will be closed promptly at 10pm, if you arrive after 10pm you will not be allowed to vote. However, if you are still in a polling station at 10pm, you will still be able to cast your ballot.
You will not need to take your poll card to your polling station and no form of identification is needed in order to vote.
Staff will be on hand at each and every polling station to answer any questions on the voting process or to assist you on the voting process.
Results from the Gloucestershire constituencies are usually declared in the early hours of the morning and will be posted to Punchline-Gloucester.com as they are available.
