Iceland plans 250 new Food Warehouses

Frozen food specialist, Iceland, is looking to double the number of its Food Warehouse stores.

Iceland, which has Food Warehouse stores in Cheltenham and Gloucester, is looking for up to 250 more stores, with the help of property advisor Mason Partners LLP, as reported by Retail Gazette.

It is looking for locations of at least 10,000 sq ft on retail parks around the UK.

Iceland has named, Brighton, Crawley, Salisbury and Dundee as locations it is specifically targeting.

Initially launched as an experiment in 2014, Food Warehouse stores are around three times the size of Iceland shops and usually located in retail parks.

Food Warehouse became the key focus of growth for the business in 2021, when it started to outperform Iceland's traditional supermarkets.
