Iceland and Uber Eats to deliver groceries in rapid time

Uber Eats has teamed up with Iceland to launch a new quick commerce offering to deliver groceries across London.
Following the success of rapid delivery start-ups such as Gopuff, the new venture, called 'Uber Eats Market' will use Uber's technology and Iceland's in-store infrastructure to deliver goods in as little as 20 minutes, reports Retail Gazette.
Customers on the Uber Eats mobile app will be able to order more than 1,000 items from the frozen goods supermarket via the new initiative which will focus on densely populated areas of the capital.
The first supermarkets to be tested will be located in South Bank, Poplar and Walworth Road with dedicated staff picking and packing orders.
A spokesperson for Uber Eats said that the trial was about making the company "the partner of choice for retailers".
Shoppers in the UK are increasingly turning to frozen foods at outlets such as Iceland as soaring costs squeeze household budgets.
