Chocolate specialist to open new stores

High-end chocolate retailer, Hotel Chocolat, is set to expand with new stores.

The retailer, which has stores in Cheltenham and at Gloucester Quays, said it will open 25 stores and hire 200 more staff, as reported by This is Money.

The new locations will include a large store in Manchester and two in the USA, as part of an expansion plan across the pond. It had previously closed its five American stores.

The news follows the retailer's most successful Christmas to date - with sales up 10% in 2024, compared to the festive trading period in 2023.

Hotel Chocolat was snapped up by Mars last year for £534 million, earning its co-founders £144 million each.
