Historic warehouse on market for £3.2m

A Grade II listed warehouse at Gloucester Docks is up for sale for £3.2m.

The 2148.04sq m Pillar and Lucy House is on the market with Bruton Knowles.

Built in 1835 on the east bank of the Gloucester Sharpness Canal for sugar importers Messrs Phillpotts and Baker, it was converted into offices, a pub, wine bar and restaurant in 1983.

The upper floors, supported on a colonnade of cast-iron pillars, extended over the quay to provide temporary covered storage.

Pillar and Lucy has been home to the popular Coal Kitchen restaurant since 2007.

Bruton Knowles said: "Achieving a base rent of £236,737, the freehold is available at £3.2m, representing a NIY [annual income minus costs] of 9.3%."
