Hewer team members swap spreadsheets for saddles

This June, four employees from the Hewer Team are trading desks for hills and embarking on a punishing four-day, 232-mile cycling challenge across Wales, all to raise money for two causes close to their hearts.
Starting in Holyhead on Monday, June 9, and finishing at Cardiff Bay on Thursday, June 12, the team will climb over 13,000 feet through the rugged terrain of Snowdonia, Mid-Wales, and the Brecon Beacons.

Their mission is to raise critical funds for Teckels Animal Centre, a Gloucestershire-based rescue shelter, and Ilmington School PTA, which helps provide essential learning resources for local students.
Director Stuart Hesk, one of the riders, said: "It's going to be tough, long climbs, uncertain weather, and very sore legs, but we're doing it because we believe in these causes. Knowing every mile we ride could help an abandoned dog find a home or a child get access to school equipment keeps us going."

Stuart will be joined on the ride by Mark Smith, Bryan White and Tom Routh, with Andy Green offering crucial support to the riders.
80% of all funds raised will go to Teckels Animal Centre, which provides care, shelter, and rehoming for vulnerable dogs and cats. The remaining 20% will support Ilmington School's PTA, helping to fund classroom supplies, outdoor play areas, and learning initiatives that directly benefit local children.

The team is actively seeking local businesses and supporters to sponsor the ride and help them reach their fundraising goal of £6,000. Sponsors will gain recognition through jersey branding, social media shout-outs, and inclusion in press coverage and event content.
CEO Simon Hewer said: "This is a great opportunity for businesses to show they care about the local community, and to get involved in a memorable, meaningful challenge."
