Planners at Gloucester City Council have approved an application to build nearly 100 new homes in Gloucester.
Taylor Wimpey has been given permission to build the collection of one to four bed homes with a mixture of detached and semi-detached properties off Naas Lane in Quedgeley.
Proposals submitted to the council suggest that 24 of the 97 new houses will be affordable homes.
Approximately 40 per cent of the site will also be green open space, including an orchard, dedicated play space, multi-use games area, meadow creation, wetland and new tree planting.
Ashleigh Yarrow, design and planning executive for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said the 11.17-acre housing scheme respected the character, appearance and amenity of the local area.
She said: "It will integrate positively with its immediate surroundings and wider community. The affordable homes are evenly distributed across the area and a broad mix of home types is provided offering a choice and flexibility for future residents.
"All four beds will benefit from three spaces, three beds with a minimum of two spaces and so on. An average allocation of 2.2 spaces per dwelling."
Design of the new estate is also said to include sustainable drainage systems and electric vehicle charging points for residents.
One council planning officer said: "Overall it is considered the design and layout is high quality and will provide a good quality place to live for future residents."
The plans were approved by a majority vote of seven to one.
