Gloucestershire solar tech firm sold

Tewkesbury based Solar Technology International, a pioneer in solar engineering and innovation, has been acquired by Simmonsigns Ltd.

With its headquarters in Telford, Shropshire, Simmonsigns will run Solar Technology International as an independent business.

New managing director John Halliday is working with the team, including Solar Technology International's founder Adrian Williams, to support the transition.

He said: "We have always enjoyed an excellent partnership with Solar Technology International and the team's expertise helped us incorporate solar engineering into our ranges of illuminated signs, warning lights and Belisha beacons."

Established in 2000, the business specialises in solar panels, lighting systems and batteries for caravans, motorhomes, campervans, boats and other off-grid applications.

"The company has a superb range of products and applications to fulfil the emergent demand for new solar and environmental solutions so we are really looking forward to working with the team to further develop the business and expand into new markets."
