Serious collision in the Forest of Dean

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after three people suffered serious injuries in a collision near Blakeney in the Forest of Dean, on Wednesday (January 19).

At around 5pm, there was a two-vehicle collision on the A48 Nibley Hill, at the junction with Main Road, which involved a Vauxhall Meriva and an Iveco van.

Police attended along with Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service and the South Western Ambulance Service. Several members of the public also assisted at the scene.

Two elderly occupants of the Vauxhall Meriva sustained serious injuries and were taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. They remain in hospital.

The driver of the van also suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

Road closures were in place overnight while a collision investigation took place and these were lifted Thursday morning (January 20).

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to make contact.
