Gloucestershire businessmen smash initial target for Land's End to John O'Groats bike ride

The saddle soreness currently being felt by two Gloucestershire businessmen who are cycling between Land's End and John O'Groats will be eased by news they have smashed their fundraising target.

Dave Merrett, managing director of Merrett's Heating Systems from Frampton-on-Severn and Kevin House, a commercial account executive of Brunsdons set off on their cycle ride on Friday.

They are raising money for the MS Society and Guide Dogs for the Blind and had aimed to hit the £10,000 barrier.

And after just a day of peddling, news would have reached them that they had smashed through the five-figure barrier, with the total currently standing at £10,265 as of Monday morning.
