Gloucestershire business raises £40,000 for charity

Freemans Event Partners is celebrating a successful year of fundraising for local charity, the Pied Piper Appeal.

The Gloucester-based events company has supported the Pied Piper Appeal for two decades. Following last year's fundraising initiatives, it smashed its £30,000 target, raising over £41,000 for the children's charity.

Throughout 2022, the Freemans Event Partners team raised more than £10,000 in a variety of ways - from bake sales, arts and crafts fetes and fancy dress to auctioning tickets for the 2023 FA Cup Final.

The Christmas raffle, which ran throughout December, raised over £31,000 and offered prizes including a trip to New York, Harry Styles tickets and hospitality packages at Gloucester Rugby.

Stephen Freeman, chief executive officer of Freemans Event Partners, said: "Our relationship with the Pied Piper Appeal is one that I'm immensely proud of. To have raised this amount for them over the last 12 months is just fantastic. As an organisation, it does amazing work and we look forward to continuing our support."

Julie Kent, vice chair at the Pied Piper Appeal, said: "We are pleased to say that 2022 was a record fundraising year for us, and Freemans Event Partners has been a huge part of that.

"The A&E department has been revamped and extended at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and the funds Freemans Event Partners has raised will kit out the paediatric waiting area with toys, sit-on electronic game stations and whatever is in the plan for children waiting for treatment.

"We look forward to putting the plaque on the wall for recognition of all that Freemans Event Partners has achieved to make a difference to sick and disabled children in Gloucestershire."

The Pied Piper Appeal was founded by Peter Hickman to raise money to fund a new children's hospital for the county. Its ongoing mission is to make a difference to the lives of sick and disabled children in Gloucestershire.
