Hazlewoods staff and clients complete thoroughly British mission

We are talking about the efforts of Hazlewoods Farms and Estates' team which faced down the elements to complete a 100 client centenary challenge, all in aid of Cheltenham cancer charity Maggie's.

Thirty four employees divided into 11 teams before setting forth undaunted into the storm-like  weather focusing its full attentions on Gloucestershire to visit 100 farms and estates across three counties in one day.

Modes of transport ranged from by foot, bicycle, tractor, horse and even a unicorn (okay, a horse in disguise), and clients duly did their bit - waiting with an open door, shelter, and what everyone needs to see them through such a thoroughly English cake and a nice cup of tea.

Every team of the group made it to their destinations, come what may, travelling more than 400 miles in total.

Nick Dee, partner at the Staverton headquartered firm, said: "We are delighted to announce that the clients' and supporters' generosity did not stop at the refreshments they provided and the team managed to raise in excess of 180 per cent of our target, a total of £15,107 for Hazlewoods charity of the year, Maggie's.

"We are so proud of the team for their efforts in extremely difficult conditions and send a great deal of thanks to everyone who supported us and donated to Maggie's."

It is still possible to add to the total. Visit the firm's JustGiving  page.
